Together with various partners across South Dakota, we continually offer events for anyone interested in how to use the same principles and practices that leading-edge soil health farmers and ranchers have discovered to make their land more resilient, healthy, and productive. The events cover a wide range of topics from Grazing Schools, to the Soil Health Conference, to tours at Pasque Hill on Beaver Creek and much more.
We will continue to add to this list as more resources become available. Check back often for new links!
While South Dakota’s extreme weather can pose “growing” challenges in our yards, gardens, farms, and ranches, nature has provided simple, practical solutions – most of which are rooted in our living soil.
USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has been working with South Dakota farmers and ranchers for years to improve grasslands and farmlands. Healthy Soil at Home translates successful soil health-improving agricultural principles.

North American grasslands are critical ecosystems, teeming with life and biodiversity.
